ποΈ Safety Manager β Protect the People Who Preserve History
Renaissance Historic Exteriors | Illinois & Missouri (Multi-Site) | Full-Time | $75,000β$85,000/yr
Some companies restore buildings. We restore landmarks.
State Capitols. Century-old churches. Structures on the National Register of Historic Places. Since 1992, Renaissance Historic Exteriors has been trusted with the roofs and exteriors America can't afford to lose β natural slate, copper, clay tile, heavy timber.
Our craftsmen work at heights most people will never stand at, on structures most people will only ever photograph. Your job is to make sure every one of them goes home safe β for decades.
Why this role is different
Most safety jobs are about keeping a company out of trouble. This one is about protecting a legacy β and the people who build it.
- π We're already winning. Our Experience Modification Rate (EMR) sits well below the construction industry standard. You're not inheriting a mess β you're inheriting momentum. Your mission: build on it.
- π― Safety is a core value here, not a poster on the wall. Our purpose statement is literally "We elevate the lives of our people." Leadership backs it with action.
- π£οΈ You'll have a real seat at the table. Your recommendations go straight to company leadership β and they get acted on.
- π§ The work is genuinely interesting. Steep-slope slate roofs, copper work, timber framing, historic masonry. No two job sites are alike.
What you'll own
- Company-wide safety programs and policies β develop them, implement them, keep making them better
- Job site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits across active Illinois and Missouri projects
- Incident investigations that lead to real corrective action β not paperwork that gathers dust
- Safety onboarding and ongoing training for every field team member
